Design Team Highlight: Ivy’s Return From Maternity Leave

 
We’re happy to have Ivy, one of our members of the jewelry design team, back from maternity leave. She had her first son, Mav, at home on June 22, 2022. He weighed a whopping 7 lbs. 15 oz!

Mav is 2 months old and is already growing into a little personality. He loves to eat and definitely lets it be known by making little sounds as he eats. He is also very strong and made it hard to make some of the mementos with his handprints. He’s doing so well.

This is Ivy’s first week back, and she is only back part-time at the moment. Ivy says it has been an adjustment, but has been working out great as she gets to spend precious time with Mav in the morning and has a little time away from Mav since she has the option of part-time transition, part of the maternity benefits available to our team members.

Here at Sorrelli, you have the option to take 6 weeks of maternity leave, plus up to 4 weeks of PTO, and then take a part-time transition period, which allows our team members to work part-time for a month to adjust to coming back to work. This is a great way to enjoy those first few months with their newborns and slowly get back to their careers.

It also brings us to mention that we are celebrating National Women's Equality Day today. Just as a little recap, Women's Equality Day commemorates the fight women had to gain the right to vote and to gain basic equality in the US. Our past, present, and future women’s strength to overcome hurdles and fight to march the women’s movement forward against discrimination. Today is all about empowering women and remembering how far we’ve come. Although the fight for equality is far from over. Take some time today to thank the women in your life and take a moment to acknowledge the hard work they do. Without women fighting for equality, the right to work and be a mom would not be so commonplace today.
