Summer Garden Prep
Happy Wednesday! Today we’re in Lisa’s plant space in her Kutztown barn. This is where she preps her seedlings for the Summer garden. During winter, she gets started on growing the cold weather plants like broccoli, lettuce, beets, and spinach. They’re finally beginning to sprout for Spring, when they’ll be ready to be planted. The key is to wait until late March to early April when it’s warm enough outside.
The planters sit on little warming mats that keep them warm in the cold barn, and they’re all set up under grow lights that have a neon pink hue to them. Like plants growing outdoors in the sunlight, the plants indoor grow best under full-spectrum lights that produce the perfect balance of warm & cool light.
Of course, Lily & Lisa paired a little bit of jewelry from the Urban Collection to go with their gardening.
